I got this radio: But it seems to be locked between the freq range of 450-470MHz For programming I use HT610E Programming Software V1.03.11 When I select frequency of 440-470MHz under the Model Information menu and try to write the changes to the radio, i get an error message: The frequency range doesnt match! Please select frequency range 450-470MHz. I can program and configure the radio as long as i dont go outside the 450-470MHz range. I bought the radio because I was given the idea that I can configure the radio at any frequency i wanted- just use the correct antenna. Or does it need flashing the firmware? Or any other tricks?

Thanks for any input, heiki. To clarify a couple of things. 1 Generally a radio on the 450-470 band can be made to work from 440 - 480. BUT changing firmware is some cases WILL make a 450-470 radio 440-470 or something similar. In your case it is probably the radio model number that is stopping you from using the different freq band. Changing firmware may fix this IF the radio will take the different firmware. It is also possible that the radio just needs a 'key' or some other software change to allow the 440 -450 section.

Another option is to modify the software its self to allow the extended range you want. I do not have the modification and I am not6 aware of one existing but you never know it might be outthere.
